Greetings from COCBA in Central Oregon! We are excited to be providing a number of changes for the business community in our area. We continue our monthly breakfast meetings without a break, and will offer special events in the months ahead and will update this news when these events are finalized.
We have made some significant changes in our membership status for Churches and Ministries in Central Oregon. Our desire is to cooperate on all fronts with these ministries and our position is that either churches or ministries agree with our Vision statement.
Starting September 6, 2007 there are no membership fees for either ministries or churches. We ask that the churches include mention of our meetings in their bulletin or on a board and have copies of our brochures in their foyers. All churches and ministries will be contacted and individual ministries will be reviewed by the board. Existing churches and ministries on our Sponsored lists will be contacted individually for their consideration of these changes.
At our Board Meeting of September 6th it was agreed we could continue our working relationship with Christ@Work and Western Seminary for future relationships with our Marketplace ministry.
Christ@Work International President Kent Humphries was in Bend for two meetings with our membership and it was agreed by our Board we would serve as an umbrella organization for future groups of Christ@Work. We have started two of these groups in Bend. I recommend you check out http://www.fcci.org/ for information about this ministry and/or contact me for more information.

Bill Moe, President of COCBA, speaks about balance in your Christian walk. Bill came to Bend in 2000 and retired from W. G. Moe & Son’s in Portland on December 31st of 2004. Bill has served as President of COCBA since June of 2005.
Bill will share his perspectives of balancing Business, Family and our Christian walk. Management of work/family is one of God's gifts. Romans 12:6-8, TLB. "God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well… If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well… If God has given you money, be generous in helping others with it. If God has given you administrative ability and put you in charge of the work of others, take the responsibility seriously."
CENTRAL OREGON MINISTRIES EVENTS
The Oregon department of education has banned the use of school owned tour busses to transport students. We put on 15,000 miles in field trips last year. Most of those miles were in our tour bus. To get ready for our spring field trips we have to sell two of our busses and purchase a late model school bus and adapt it to facilitate field trips. (See Bus 1 and 2 above for any questions on these two busses, and contact Ken below)

Prepare the Way Ministries
Stephen Williams and his wife Sarah have a great heart for youth and have great plans for a Youth Event in April or May. I have an enclosed Word Document that Stephen recently sent out.
